| Seasonal Flight Data | A stray to our area, not to be expected until late spring or summer at the earliest. |
| General Notes | Does not overwinter in north Texas; emigrates northward from south Texas. Soldiers are very similar to the Queen but can be differentiated in the following ways: 1) Dorsal (top) side of forewings have fewer white spots along the outside margin than the Queen; 2) Ventral (bottom) side of hindwing has an irregular brown median band; 3) has a slightly more "rust" color as opposed to the Queen's chocolate brown coloring.. |
