Hoary Edge (Achalarus lyciades)

Caterpillar HostplantsLittle-Leaf Tick-Clover (Desmodium ciliare), Panicled Tick-Clover (Desmodium paniculatum), Nuttall's Tick-Clover (Desmodium nuttallii), Hairy Bush-Clover (Lespedeza hirta), Texas Bush-Clover (Lespedeza texana), and probably others in this genus, and Wild Indigo (Baptisia sp.).

Seasonal Flight DataApril - September. Scott notes that larvae hibernate.
General NotesSuperficially similar to the Silver-Spotted Skipper, but the white spot on the hindwing on the Hoary Edge reaches to the edge, unlike that of the Silver-Spotted Skipper.
